I love this work. I love our community.

Meet Rachel
Howdy, I'm Rachel Gallardo, and I'm running to serve the Georgetown ISD community on the School Board in Place 2. I'm a devoted mother of GISD students, former teacher and currently work with public school leaders across the state of Texas. I've seen public education from all angles, from the classroom to the superintendent's office to the boardroom.
I have seen firsthand how superintendents and board members collaborate to ensure students lead, staff thrive, families stay connected, and the district is prepared for growth. When I'm elected, I'll use that knowledge and experience to ensure that GISD is the best school district in Texas.
I love hearing from the GISD community. Please reach out and let me know what's on your mind so I can ensure your perspective stays front and center.

Why I’m running for Place 2
I grew up in New Boston, a small town in East Texas, and I’m a proud graduate of Texas public schools and Texas A&M University (Whoop!). My parents inspired me to serve. My mom, a church pianist and substitute teacher, and my dad, a Baptist minister, gave their talents to ensure people felt cared for and supported.
Now, as a wife, mom to GISD students, and someone who has an extensive background in education, I’m ready to serve my community and ensure that my children, and all GISD children, receive a high-quality education.
I began my career as a middle school science teacher and now work with district leaders and superintendents across Texas. I’ve seen what makes school districts thrive and understand how school boards and superintendents can work together to create real change for students and staff.
I love this work. I love our community. And I would be honored to serve as your School Board representative for Place 2.

My Commitment to Georgetown
Georgetown is a special place—a wonderful community to live, work, and raise a family. Generations of residents have worked to ensure that everyone who calls Georgetown home is supported and empowered to thrive.
As our community grows, it’s more important than ever to ensure that our schools are the best in Texas. Every student, no matter their background, deserves a high-quality education where academic success and positive experiences go hand in hand.
As a connected parent, community volunteer, and non-profit board member, I’m committed to strengthening GISD’s ties with the community.
With 16 years of experience in public education, working alongside superintendents and senior teams across Texas, I bring a collaborative vision to ensure our schools, families, and community succeed together.
